NorMA: Psychosis

Substance abuse and psychosis are linked in many ways. People with psychotic disorders tend to use more drugs, and the use of certain drugs is associated with acute and long-term increased risk of psychosis. The NorMA questionnaire contains questions about different types of psychotic experiences as well as about treatment for such ailments. These questions can be combined with detailed information about substance abuse and other background variables.

We have published an article on the relationship between drug use, socio-demographic background and the number of different types of psychotic experiences ( Rognli, Bramness, Skurtveit and Bukten 2017 ) and are now working on an article on the age of onset of different types of drugs and risk of hospitalization for psychosis.
